Susan is also Regular Contributor for Shape Magazine and a former
member of Shape Magazine’s Adventure Travel Team where she helps
executives, managers, and individuals change their beliefs about what
they are truly
capable of, both physically and mentally.
Susan’s approach to Lifestyle Coaching is highly individualized.
She helps clients determine where their lives are out of balance and what “mental
road blocks” or beliefs are blocking their way to better health.
Susan has helped hundreds of people develop personal lifestyle strategies
that work even when the demands of everyday living seem overwhelming.
When Susan is not coaching her clients, leading seminars, and guiding
white-water rafting trips for Shape readers, she writes outstanding
books. Mind Over Matter: Personal Choices for a Lifetime of Fitness
is her latest
success. It shows us how preparation –not willpower- is the
secret to permanent weight loss and lasting change. Her first book
was Policies
That Work for Personal Trainers, published by IDEA. It was acclaimed
as “the
personal training industry’s business bible.”
Susan is an Associate Editor for Canadian Fitness Business, Lifestyle
Editor for Active Woman Canada and is currently working on her third book.
Susan’s energy, humor, and knowledge have also put her in high
demand as an international educator, lecturer, and public speaker. She
regularly presents at the fitness industry’s most prestigious
events: The International Personal Training Summit, World Fitness
Idea, Club Industry,
the Canadian Association of Fitness Professionals Conference, and
the FitPro Conference in England.
Susan has been nominated five consecutive years for the International
